We support Jacobs School of Music students as they prepare for innovative, creative, and successful lives in the performing arts.
This site is designed to provide resources and support for all students and faculty, in addition to the Canvas Career Resources area, and the Handshake Career Portal.

STUDENT LEADERSHIP TEAM
A student leadership team in the OECD serves as a catalyst for entrepreneurial thought and action by offering high-impact career development and entrepreneurship workshops, networking events, peer support for projects, mini-conferences, and coordination of the annual Innovation Competition.

STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS
Student Organizations play a significant role in the life of students in the Jacobs School of Music and range from chapters of national professional organizations to specialized performing ensembles.

INNOVATION GRANTS
We’re thrilled to announce the inaugural round of innovation grants that are being made available to Jacobs School of Music students and faculty! Five student awards of up to $2,000 are available and a single faculty award of up to $8,000 will be granted. STUDENT info here >> | FACULTY info here >>

INNOVATION COMPETITION 2023
We’re thrilled to announce that the 2023 Innovation Competition will take place on February 4.  With a first prize of $6,000, we look forward to celebrating great ideas! More information about this opportunity will be added soon. Read up on last year’s winners.


OECD offerings include expert guidance, education programs, workshops and discussions, one-on-one career coaching, multiple online tools, mentorship to student organizations and projects, departmental collaborations, digital publications, and more. An undergraduate Certificate in Music Entrepreneurship (15 credits) is offered in partnership with the Kelley School of Business. A comprehensive overview of our activities can be found here.
