SOUNDTRACK OF THE WEEK #19 – Risk of Rain 2 (Music by Chris Christodoulou)
Capping off our showcase of soundtracks from the “Voices & Video Games” concert from earlier this year is Risk of Rain 2, one of the biggest indie games in the current era of gaming including its incredibly popular soundtrack, composed by Chris Christodoulou. The music in Risk of Rain 2 has become known for impressive blends of musical genre and a fluidity that seems to effortlessly accompany the experience of the players at the controller; even those who aren’t fond of the roguelike genre will admit that the inevitable head-banging caused by these tracks revs up the excitement to destroy some enemies! At the V&VG performance, Music in Games Society member Michael Eaton presented his arrangement of “Antarctic Oscillation” to kick off the concert before the ensemble gave a blazing performance of his stellar arrangement.
