SOUNDTRACK OF THE WEEK #10 – Stellar Blade
(Music by SHIFT UP Corporation & Various Others)
There is far too much going on in the Stellar Blade original soundtrack for me to cover it all in one week, but I wanted to feature it anyways since it is one of the nominees for “Best Score and Music” at the Game Awards this year, alongside Astro Bot, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Metaphor: Refantazio, and Silent Hill 2. The soundtrack focuses on electronic components primarily, with occasional mix-ins of orchestral instruments, vocals, and/or guitars; I found some of these tracks reminding me of music from NieR: Automata, the Xenoblade Chronicles series, and Astral Chain. Listening to the music, I feel that the composers successfully scored the sci-fi action combat that is to be experienced in the game. Stellar Blade is a more recent release from April of this year that seems to under the radar for most; hopefully, you can find a bit of time to check out something a little different this week with this soundtrack!

Review Excerpt:
“Stellar Blade puts you in control of Eve, a human arriving at a far-flung future Earth riddled with monsters known as Naytibas. EVE possesses superhuman powers, having been raised on a space colony and trained specifically to free what few survivors remain on the planet from the oppression of this omnipresent and existential threat.”
