Jacobs Harp Academy Spring Concert will be held in Auer Hall at 1:45pm on Sunday, May 7th. Our harpists have been working hard and they all sound great! Not Bragging. Students have made great improvements this semester. They are eager to present you what they can do on harp! It will be a wonderful concert for you to enjoy! We will start 15 minutes earlier than the previously announced concert time (2pm) to accommodate students’ needs. Dress rehearsal 11:30a-1:30p. A chip in reception to follow after the concert! We will set up tables on the hallway at the entrance of Auer Hall. You can place your food items on a table we set up. Thank you all for another great semester! Looking forward to our concert on Sunday at 1:45p!

Congratulations to Sihan Wu for being invited to perform at the final stage of the American Harp Society National Competition! Her division (Intermediate 1) is competing on June 3rd, 2023 at The Colburn School in Los Angelas, CA. We will be thinking positive thoughts and rooting for her on June 3rd! Her repertoire includeTheme and Deviations (1973) by Libby Larsen, Sweet Blues by Bernard Andrés and Petite Valse, Op. 25  by Alphonse Hasselmans.

Congratulations to Emma Levesque for winning the 2023 Bloomington Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition 2023! She will be performing Concertstück Op.39 by Gabriel Pierné this Fall. Stay tuned for her performance date!

Emma Levesque’s Bio

Emma Levesque began studying harp at age four and became a student in Indiana University’s pre-college harp program at age seven where Emma currently studies with Fanfen Tai. Emma has competed in harp competitions in Japan, Hong Kong, and across the U.S., most recently winning first place in the Midwest Harp Festival Solo Competition, second place in the Hong Kong Infinity International Music Competition, and first place in the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra’s Youth Concerto Competition. Emma is a junior honors student at Indiana Connections Academy. When not playing the harp, Emma is an avid sailor and US Sailing certified small boat instructor.
