IU composer receives commission from Tehran Flute Choir
Tehran Flute Choir, Asia’s largest flute ensemble, established byFirouzeh Navai in 2015, has commissioned Amin Sharifi to write a newwork for its 2017-2018 season. The composition will have its premiereperformance on April 14, 2017 (Roudaki Hall, Tehran). Website:www.tehranflutechoir.com

Three IU Composers will be featured at 2017 Red Note Music Festival
Three IU composers Alex Berko, Nicholas Landrum, and Chris Neiner have been selected as composition fellows for the 2017 Red Note Music Festival. All three students will have pieces performed by the resident ensemble, the Del Sol String Quartet and loadbang, and work with distinguished guest composer Sydney Hodkinson, as well as faculty members Martha Horst, Roy Magnuson, and Carl Schimmel. The festival runs from March 27th-29th, and is hosted by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
