Description: In Japanese culture, the language used daily plays an important role in food. Language can express experiences with food and reflect cultural beliefs and aspects of society. The focus of the course will be on healthy Japanese dishes, Japanese seasonings, and aspects of Japanese culture related to food. In addition, American and Japanese dishes will be compared and contrasted. The goal of this course is that through the sampling of Japanese food, students will become more knowledgeable about Japanese language, etiquette, and culture.
