“Attributes” can be assigned to courses so that they can be used to filter class searches within iGPS for specific offerings within General Education. The following are currently in active use:

* These Attributes are listed this way for those who matriculated before Fall 2021, and a few categories of General Education were renamed or moved into Extended Literacies
* There are two attributes for Information Literacy because the requirement can be met either by COAS-Q 110, as was the practice for everyone before Fall 2021, and successful completion of the course fully meets the requirement, or by taking a tagged course. Note that with a tagged course the instructor will indicate successful completion of both the course and the tagged information-literacy aspect of the course — course completion alone is NOT sufficient.
Here’s an example of using Attributes to filter for just Literary & Intellectual Traditions courses from within the Common Core:
