Congratulations to all of our graduates! In the coming days we will share the stories of some of our new alums. Today, we hear from Emily Owens, RN to BSN graduate:
Why did you choose to pursue your Bachelor of Science in Nursing?
I chose to pursue my BSN to help further my nursing knowledge and to open new opportunities for myself and my future in this field. Plus, I enjoy being active in education and the immense learning that comes with it!
Why did you choose the IU School of Nursing Online RN-BSN Program for your nursing education?
I chose the IU School of Nursing Online RN-BSN Program because of the ease and flexibility that it offers. As a nurse working full time, I wanted a program that could fit in with my schedule and be accessible; all of which IU’s program offered!
What is your favorite course from your time at the IU School of Nursing?
My favorite course during my time in the IU School of Nursing was the Nursing Assessment course that provided a more in-depth understanding of assessing patients both pediatric and adult. This class helped build on my current knowledge of assessment and taught me some new skills for assessing individuals as well.
What are your plans after graduation?
After graduation, I’m going to continue to work as a nurse for IU Health which I’ve been with for over 2 years now. I also plan on looking to the future, potentially seeking a further degree in nursing.
Anything else you’d like to add or highlight?
I’m more than thankful for the opportunity to pursue my BSN through IU and for being able to further my knowledge and education in nursing. Go Hoosiers!
