It’s not often you find a program of study where every single professor genuinely wants to see you succeed, but that’s the case with the sports management program at IUPUI.
Trey Brown, who finished his sports management degree at IUPUI in 2018, credited his professors with preparing him to work in the industry through their connections in the city of Indianapolis.
“The IUPUI sports management program prepared me for this career by helping me out with connections within the city of Indianapolis,” Brown said. “Without the help of Dr. Pierce, Professor Vaughan, and Dr. Sherman, I wouldn’t be where I am today!”
Brown spent his first few years after graduation as the Communications & Sponsorship Director for the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA). He worked closely with all IHSAA sponsors and serves as the point of contact for the association.
“One thing I love about this job is seeing all the communities come together during tourney time to cheer on and support their teams!” Brown said. “High school sports can really bring a whole town to an event and that is what I love most about high school athletics!”
Brown calls IU Indianapolis a great place for future students to attend because it is America’s sports capital. He loves that IUPUI’s campus is just minutes from, “numerous great organizations within the city of Indianapolis.”
