Applications now are being accepted for TechPoint’s 17th annual Mira Awards, which recognize Indiana’s top companies and individuals involved in technology innovation.
For Hoosier entrepreneurs, the exposure and prestige offered by the Miras serves as a powerful springboard for their ventures. Past winners have reported securing $250,000 in new venture capital, signing $1 million in new business, gaining national media exposure and even an invitation to the White House.
Winners with IU ties last year included the Regenstrief Institute, which was recognized for “special contributions to health technology.” The Institute was established in 1969 by philanthropist Sam Regenstrief on the Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis campus and works closely with the IU School of Medicine and Wishard-Eskenazi Health.
Categories in this year’s competition include: investor of the year, community champion of the year, tech educator of the year, innovation of the year, corporate innovator of the year, company culture of the year, new startup of the year, scale-up of the year, tech company of the year and best new tech product.
