Anagin LLC, part of the Indiana University Research and Technology Corp.’s Spin Up program, will present its novel method for treating post-traumatic stress disorder without triggering harmful side effects at CATTEC VIII, an investment forum for promising Midwest startups being held Thursday, Oct. 15 in Chicago.
Organized by the Midwest Research University Network, CATTEC — whose acronym stems from “Catalyzing Tech Transfer and Start-up Financing” — will be hosted this year by UChicagoTech and the Chicago Innovation Exchange. The event brings together entrepreneurs, technology transfer professionals and investors who meet and make connections. Companies that attend CATTEC typically are seeking between $500,000 and $5 million in seed funds — or will be within the next half-year.
At CATTEC, presenting companies make “fast pitches” up to 6 minutes long, with an additional minute allowed for fielding questions. Ventures compete for four awards that include Most Innovative Company, Best Presentation, Audience Favorite and an overall First Place winner that receives a cash prize.
CATTEC VIII begins at 8 a.m. on the CIE Skydeck at Harper Court, which is on the 11th floor of the Harper Court Conference Center at 5235 S. Harper Court. Along with Anagin’s participation in the event, Polina Feldman, an associate with the Spin Up program, will serve on the conference’s presenting company committee.
