Seven Indiana University Bloomington students are participating in B-Start, a pre-accelerator program for entrepreneurs and their early-stage startups in Monroe County. The program is offered through the Bloomington Economic Development Corp.
The four startups led by participating IU students are:
- Deep Word, led by Ankush Bikkasani and Dipam Vasani. It is a synthetic video and audio production company for increasing efficiency of content creation.
- Fyscal, led by Nicolas Narducci, Jackson Taylor and Kurt Taylor. It is an online financial learning platform.
- Onward Innovation, led by Trevor Pollock. It is a carbon fiber wallet production and ecommerce company.
- ShuffleMe, led by Britain Taylor. It is mood-tracking software related to social media use.
B-Start is designed for entrepreneurs who want to take their creative business idea through a comprehensive refining process to build a foundation for acceleration. Each B-Start participant has been paired with a local entrepreneur or business leader who will guide them through the program.
At the end of the program on Feb. 11, all participants will deliver a virtual, five-minute pitch to a panel of judges via Zoom. The winners will receive cash prizes to advance their business.
