The Bloomington Economic Development Corp. received a bronze Excellence in Economic Development Award from the International Economic Development Council for B-Start, a project the BEDC entered in the Entrepreneurship category. The honor was presented at an awards ceremony during the IEDC Annual Conference, which took place Sept. 29-Oct. 3 in Atlanta.
“Since we started the pre-accelerator program to grow early-stage startups, we have received overwhelming local support for the program. We are very thankful that the IEDC recognized the B-Start program at the national level, and we hope this program can be replicated in other communities,” said Anne McCombe, project manager with BEDC.
