Ray Wallace, chancellor at Indiana University Southeast, is scheduled to be a panelist at the 2018 Education-to-Employment Convergence Power Breakfast on Tuesday, April 24. The discussion will be focused on how Indiana can build a talent strategy around a more highly educated workforce.
Wallace assumed his role at IU Southeast on July 1, 2014. He was born in Northern Ireland, came to the U.S. to attend Eastern Illinois University on an athletics scholarship, and, after completing his undergraduate and Master of Arts degrees there, went on to attain his doctoral degree in English at Illinois State University.
Before coming to IU Southeast, Wallace held faculty/administrative positions at the University of Hawaii at Hilo, the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, Kennesaw State University, Northwestern State University of Louisiana, Troy University, Clayton State University and the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith. He served in several administrative roles that prepared him well for leadership of the IU Southeast campus: as a provost and senior vice chancellor, two deanships of arts and sciences colleges, a directorship of a state’s designated Honors College in the liberal arts and sciences, a division head, a director of writing, and as a university writing center director.
The 2018 E2E Convergence Power Breakfast will take place from 8 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown, 350 W. Maryland St., Indianapolis. Indiana University and the Indianapolis Business Journal are partnering to create the event. There are 200 free tickets available; when they have been claimed, prices will increase to $40 for IBJ subscribers and $50 for nonsubscribers.
