The next quarterly meeting of IU’s Council for Regional Engagement and Economic Development (CREED) is scheduled for Wednesday (Aug. 24) in Room 1006 of University Hall on the IUPUI campus.
Representatives will hear presentations from representatives of Thriving Communities, Thriving State — a statewide initiative of the IU Public Policy Institute. The program employs a “place-based approach” that seeks to improve the economy and quality of life for urban as well as mid-sized and small-town/rural communities by identifying areas of focus that are relevant to each locality’s strengths and circumstances, then makes recommendations to state and local policy leaders.
Additional presentations will be made by the Indiana Economic Development Corp., IUPUI and IU’s Government Relations office. CREED Vice Chair David Gard also will discuss recent changes to eligibility requirements for the council’s Regional Economic Development (RED) Fund.
