A deadline of Feb. 29 is set for applicants seeking the Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute’s (CTSI) special post-doctoral training award in translational research.
The award offers post-doctoral research associates at Indiana University, Purdue University and the University of Notre Dame experience in writing and reviewing proposals related to translational research — or the “bench-to-bedside” process in which lab discoveries translate into patient treatment.
The competition is for two, one-year awards of $5,000 per institution in the form of an expense account for the use of more than 70 CTSI core facilities. A list of those facilities is available here.
Recipients of the awards will be announced in April. For more information, read here.
Additional opportunities in translational research at CTSI include:
- Collaboration in Translational Research Pilot Program: The program aims to foster and encourage collaboration across Indiana CTSI’s partner institutions (IU, Purdue, and Notre Dame), as well as initiate or continue translational research projects that have very strong and immediate potential to develop into larger, externally funded research programs, or generate novel intellectual property (IP). The submission deadline is March 4. For more details, read here.
- Year in Translational Research for Medical Students: CTSI seeks applicants for a special research fellowship in translational research. This competitive program provides an annual stipend and one year of health insurance coverage for up to two IU School of Medicine students interested in taking a year out of medical school to pursue an M.S. in Translational Science. The submission deadline is March 4. For more details, read here.
