B-Start, a pre-accelerator program for early stage student technology startups recently launched by the Bloomington Economic Development Corp., is now accepting applications.
Supported in part by Innovate Indiana, it involves a four-week program in which six to 10 startup businesses are selected for mentorship and coaching sessions, consultations, informational programs and a pitch day in which startups will compete for prizes based on various scoring criteria. The program is open to all Indiana University Bloomington and Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington students who want to take their idea for a technology related business to the next level of development.
Aug. 29 is the cutoff date for applications to be submitted. Applicants then will face a round of interviews by B-Start staff. The first B-Start session begins Sept. 14, with six to 10 startup ideas ultimately selected.
