There are changes coming to IU High School proctoring procedures.
At IU High School, any exam proctor must be approved by our Exams department. We offer a free online proctoring service through Examity, and encourage our students to use Examity whenever it is available in a course.
For those students who must or wish to use an in-person proctor, please note the proctor policies and guidelines detailed in the IU High School Student Handbook.
Of particular importance is who may serve as a proctor. Principals, school counselors, librarians, and official proctors at testing sites are excellent options. Proctors may not be a teacher, relative, friend, tutor or educational consultant, supervisor, employee, or work colleagues of the student or the student’s family members.
All proctors must be able to sit with the student for the duration of the exam and watch the student take their assessment. If a proctor is unable to or fails to comply with the Proctor Guidelines, they will no longer be approved to serve as a proctor.
Please note: Beginning September 1, 2019, all proctors will be required to sign a statement affirming that they have administered the exam according to the proctor guidelines and that they are not a teacher, relative, friend, tutor or educational consultant, supervisor, or employee of the student or the student’s family members.
