The 2019 ACM SIGUCCS conference is over, and that means it’s time for another conference wrap-up post!

One of the especially exciting things about this year’s conference was getting to be publications chair – I’d never served on a conference planning committee before, and it was so much fun that I ended up volunteering to do it again for the 2020 conference!

It was exciting to get to see my design work all over the conference. I love doing print design, and it was fun to get to work on all sorts of design projects for the conference over the course of the year.
In addition to serving as publications chair, I also took part in four presentations! I presented two posters (at the same time, no less), participated in two panels, and led IT Training’s cybersecurity-themed escape room, Catching The Big Bad Wolf.

Everyone really enjoyed the escape room, and we got lots of positive feedback on it!

Additionally, we won three Communication Awards this year! Think Before You Click won Best in Category for General Service Campaign Materials, the NameCoach at IU video won Best in Category for Short Promotional Video, and Audition: The Basics won Best in Category for Instructional Materials. I’m especially proud of the last one, since I was the lead developer on that course!

All in all, the conference was great, and I’m definitely looking forward to being on the 2020 conference committee!
