IT Professional Colleagues:
Endpoint Management Services/OmniSOC will be releasing version 7.14.2 for all Log-Alert [1] Elastic Beats today, November 1, 2021. Existing customers will find the updates as a new commit to the Beats repos [2]. This update is very important and should be applied as soon as possible. The OmniSOC team will also be updating the file “iulog_ca.crt” before the certificate will be changing on Thursday, December 2.
If existing customers do not update their installations by Thursday, December 2, those machines will not be able to send logs to the Log-Alert Infrastructure.
Additionally, Endpoint Management Services has been in the process of transferring responsibility and management of Log-Alert fully over to OmniSOC and we should be complete by early November. Customer support will not change, and the support web site [3] and email address [4] will remain the same. Log-Alert will be better able to support customers with this change and workflows will be more unified.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email the group at lservnix@iu.edu.
