IT Professionals:
As we are nearing when many will return to the office in-person, we wanted to make you aware of two changes/updates on video meetings inside video conference rooms with videoconferencing systems.
Zoom Muted Upon Entry:
If you joined a Zoom meeting using the conference room equipment and you appear as unmuted and other people in the meeting cannot hear you, please follow these steps:
- Verify that the meeting host did not manually mute you.
- If the host did not mute you, you were likely muted upon entry to the meeting.
- On the touchscreen or number pad, press the # symbol then 1, and then 2.
- If you are still muted, contact Classroom Conferencing Support at812-856-2020.
NOTE: The status light on the conference device may display green while muted. The light only indicates if the microphone on the conference device is active.
To help your users, a flyer in two sizes (6in x 4in and 8.5in x 11in) is available with this information to print and place by your videoconferencing devices. Additionally, see PowerPoint for other information that may be helpful [1].
Teams Video Conference Updates:
We are now utilizing a new gateway system for videoconference rooms to call in to meetings. If you scheduled a recurring Teams meeting before 7/11/2021 you will need to cancel and reschedule the meeting series to connect with video videoconferencing equipment. Once the meeting has been rescheduled, a 10-digit video conference ID will be provided. Please ensure entering ‘27’ before dialing the video conference ID number. For more details see the KB document below.
As a reminder, Knowledge Base docs are available to help with videoconferencing.
