IT Professionals:
Exchange Online Migrations will resume January 26, 2021.
A subset of users with cross-division mailbox conflicts will be moved first, to minimize disruption. Many of these users will only be disrupted for a single day. The maximum is 3 days. The disruption would impact the ability to send mail on behalf of, read access of that secondary mailbox, and accepting or sending calendar invites on behalf of that secondary mailbox. Functionality will be restored once the mailbox has finished its migration.
Then mailboxes will continue to move by campus and division.
Migrations are scheduled through April 12, 2021.
In order to view the migration dashboard [1], viewers must be listed as a sub-lead or leader in IT People, as well as be compliant with UA [3], FERPA [4], and HRMS Data Use Tutorial [5].
What we need from you
AD Security Groups that are used for mail access must be Universal Security groups, and mail enabled.
Here is a list of groups that need to be updated: Non-Mail Enabled Groups
- If the group is already a Universal Security group, please email sct2@iu.eduwith “mail enable” in the subject.
- If the group is a Global Security group, and you want to continue to use it, please convert it to Universal before requesting as per above.
- If the global security group is a member of other global security groups (especially the groups used to administer OU objects in AD), it cannot be converted. A new universal security group will need to be created, and applied to the mailbox(es), and requested to be mail enabled as above.
If this step is not completed before the users are migrated, access to these Resource Rooms and Group mailboxes will be disrupted. Requests to repair a migrated and broken security group may take as long as 48 business hours to be addressed.
