IT Professionals,
Following up on the second phase of Exchange mailbox creation, there are 67 group accounts for which we are not creating mail forwards. These occurrences are for group accounts owned by persons no longer active at IU, and for which the MAS forwards were to external accounts.
The account owners received a direct communication on July 11, with advice that if an external forward is still needed, then the account owner should get in contact with an active employee. The active employee can ask the Support Center to transfer ownership of the group account to themself. After that, the new owner can set up a mail forwarding rule in Outlook.
For additional questions, contact Tier 2 Support at sct2@iu.edu.

Subject: Mail Changes with a group account at IU
If you receive this note, you’re a group account owner at Indiana University that forwards mail outside of IU, even though you no longer have an active status with the university.
On July 13th, 2023 mail forwards from this group account (like this one) will no longer be redirected from IU to this external account. If this activity needs to continue, a user with an active status at the University will need to contact the support center [1] and arrange for an account transfer for that group account.
Thanks
IU Mail Administrators
