Adobe account domain enforcement – November 25
IT colleagues:
To prevent personal data loss and protect institutional data, as of November 25, it will no longer be possible to create a personal, non-institutional Adobe account with an email address that is tied to any of the following domains:
- iu.edu
- indiana.edu
- iue.edu
- iufw.edu
- iuk.edu
- iun.edu
- ius.edu
- iusb.edu
- iupuc.edu
- iupui.edu
- regenstrief.org
This restriction will help clients 1) place institutional data in the appropriate account and 2) retain access to their personal, non-institutional Adobe accounts even after their IU-provided email account and/or address has been revoked. Enterprise Adobe accounts that have been created and provided by IU will not be impacted by this change.
Additionally, beginning November 25, individuals who have created a personal, non-institutional Adobe account with an IU-provided email address will be prompted to update their account so that it is associated with a non-IU provided email address. This prompt will appear wherever clients sign into their Adobe account, either in a browser or in-app. Clients will have 30 days after their first login to adjust their address, at which point Adobe will block all logins until they select a new email address for their personal account.
For more information about the client experience of this change, please refer to Learn to access your apps and data on a restricted domain.
