The recording of the coffee hours by Endpoint Management Services, originally presented on October 18, 2024, is now live.
Pearson will be conducting two vendor-scheduled maintenances in November on select Pearson courses, whether accessed directly or via the Access Pearson integration in Canvas:
- Mastering Health & Nutrition, Geology, and Environmental Science will be unavailable 1:00am-9:00am on Saturday, November 2.
- Mastering Genetics, Geography, Microbiology, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, and Astronomy will be unavailable 1:00am-9:00am on Saturday, November 16th.

IT Leadership Community Conversations on Leadership – Whether here or then: staying present at work

We will discuss being present, mindfulness, etc., and how to negotiate it in life and work. Help us crowdsource mindfulness, whether it is good, and how to deploy. This IT Leadership Community sponsored series of informal discussions about leadership is open to anyone in the IU IT community. Whether you are a current, emerging, or future leader, these discussions are for you. Meeting Zoom link, recommended pre-work, and discussion questions are available at the event link.

CompTIA A+ is the industry-preferred qualifying credential for technical support and IT operational roles. CompTIA A+ CORE 1 covers mobile devices, networking technology, hardware, virtualization and cloud computing and network troubleshooting. The course is vendor-neutral and designed to assist in preparation for the CompTIA A+ Core 1 certification examination, 220-1101, one of two exams required for CompTIA A+ certification.

Endpoint Management Services – coffee hours: Beyond Trust

Endpoint Management Services (EMS) invites you to bi-weekly, one-hour Microsoft Teams coffee hours to discuss and field questions about the IU Common Build and IU Print. The EMS coffee hours session for Friday, November 1, at 3pm will cover BeyondTrust, instead of the previously announced topic of IU Print. This will be followed in two weeks with a session focused on macOS Common Build. These sessions provide you the opportunity to become more informed about these services and to ask questions.

Supercomputing For Everyone Series: Storage 201: Data Management and Administration

This intermediate-level Storage Options and Data Management Best Practices workshop will discuss techniques and best practices for administering shared access to data, ensuring continuity of access, securing research data, and establishing a data lifecycle management policy. This workshop is intended for power users, lab PIs, and collection managers actively involved in generating, managing, and/or administering data. Topics covered include migrating data from cloud providers to on-premises IU digital storage (and vice-versa), best practices for storing and managing data, the distinction between backing up and archiving, and how to manage permissions for a data share. Did you know…
Many Microsoft products are part of Microsoft’s Select Plus agreement with Indiana University. Generally, this is any product that is not part of the Microsoft 365 licensing agreement. At IU, licensing for these titles is administered by the UITS Enterprise Windows and Azure Administration (EWA). For assistance, contact EWA at ewahelp@iu.edu.
