If devices are still affected by the CrowdStrike global outage, UITS recommends that you restart your device three times consecutively. If your device opens to the normal IU login screen, no further action is required.
If you still experience issues, you need to remove corrupted files:
- Start Windows in Safe Mode or the Windows Recovery Environment (Windows 11 option).
- Navigate to the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\CrowdStrike directory.
- Locate the file matching C-00000291*.sys and delete it.
- Restart your device normally.
