Canvas and Kaltura Updates – June 15 & June 19

IT colleagues,

On Saturday June 15, between 8am and 12pm EST, Instructure (Canvas) will be performing a regularly scheduled monthly release in the IU Canvas instance. There is no downtime expected for this maintenance.

Included in this release are:

  • Permissions: Item Bank Permission Addition
  • Speedgrader: Studio Media Comment Screen Capture and Auto Captioning
• New Quizzes
  • Export New Quizzes Using Common Cartridge
  • Sub-Account Bank Sharing
  • Outcome Alignment Sub-Account Bank Sharing and Additional Context
• Other Updates
  • Assignments: Enforcement of LTI Deep Linking Line Items

In addition, on Wednesday June 19, between 8-8:30am, eLearning and Kaltura administrators will be making a change to the Zoom/Kaltura connector. Meetings recorded to the cloud during this time may not auto-transfer from Zoom to Kaltura. Users who have meetings set to auto record to the cloud will be contacted on June 20 with instructions on how to manually transfer a recording from Zoom to Kaltura.
