Supercomputing For Everyone Series: Getting Started with Jetstream2
2-4:30pm ET
Registration required
This workshop targets researchers and educators, even those with no previous cloud computing experience. Attendees will hear an overview of Jetstream2 (including various examples and use cases), learn about the ACCESS ecosystem, and learn helpful tips and tricks. Hands-on activitities will include how to access Jetstream2 and how to access and launch VMs on it through the Exosphere interface.

This course teaches IT Professionals to configure advanced Windows Server services using on-premises, hybrid, and cloud technologies. Topics covered include how to leverage the hybrid capabilities of Azure, how to migrate virtual and physical server workloads to Azure IaaS, and how to secure Azure VMs running Windows Server. The course also teaches how to perform tasks related to high availability, troubleshooting, and disaster recovery.

In this presentation by Cathy Williams, we will explore the fundamental principles and strategies for delivering effective presentations, whether in one-on-one interactions or group settings. We discuss the importance of thorough preparation, including understanding your audience, defining clear objectives, and structuring your content for maximum impact. Supercomputing For Everyone Series: Quantum Computing

This workshop provides a brief overview of Quantum Computing. A description of what it can and cannot do will be presented. Topics planned to be discussed include changes Quantum computing will make to the non-quantum, general high performance computing (HPC) community, and why a disparate collection of large corporations are investing huge sums of money into a product which, as yet, has delivered no return. Also included will be a description of competing hardware and a simple, hands-on quantum programming exercise to be run on a quantum computer emulator.

Only the opening keynote by Jessica Barker MBE, the closing keynote by Rob Lowden, and our “AI in action” plenary session will be in-person and live streamed. The breakout sessions and in-depth workshops and trainings will be in person at the Indiana Memorial Union (IMU) unless otherwise noted. IU attendees must register to fully participate.
