Supercomputing For Everyone Series: High Performance Computing for Biologists

This workshop introduces IU Biology faculty, staff, and students to High Performance Computing (HPC) and the resources UITS Research Technologies (RT) makes available to them. This course follows on from the Introduction to HPC workshop and will cover the bioinformatics software available on IU’s supercomputing systems, the best ways to transfer, compute on, and store biological data, and how to efficiently utilize the systems.

Infoshare – Knowledge Base (KB) to ServiceNow Knowledge Transition

Jacob Farmer, Director of Enterprise Services, will discuss the upcoming move of the IU Knowledge Base to the ServiceNow Knowledge platform, scheduled for summer 2024. This change will take further advantage of IU’s investment in ServiceNow and enable additional ServiceNow functionality.

ITLC Conversations on Leadership – Hallucinations in the academy: adopting generative AI in higher education

Generative AI is in our lives and many IU platforms are already using it. Professors and students have different opinions and university staff do as well. We will discuss generative AI and its place in higher education. This session is part of an ITLC-sponsored series of informal discussions about leadership that are open to anyone in the IU IT community. In these meetings, we network in small groups. [Note: if you arrive late to the meeting, just wait a few minutes and someone will add you to one of the breakout rooms.] Resources are available to prepare for this session.

The CASP+ [CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner] covers the technical knowledge and skills required to conceptualize, engineer, integrate and implement secure solutions across complex environments to support a resilient enterprise. This course will expand on your knowledge of information security as you apply critical thinking and judgment across a broad spectrum of security disciplines to propose and implement sustainable security solutions that map to organizational strategies; translate business needs into security requirements; support IT governance and risk management; architect security for hosts, networks, and software; respond to security incidents; and more. This course also assists in the preparation for the CompTIA CASP+ CAS-004 certification exam.
