IT Professionals,
In June, Indiana University will be moving the Secure Message process from Cisco’s Cisco Secure Email Encryption Service (CSEES/CRES) to Microsoft’s Office Message Encryption simultaneously with IU Health. No action is necessary for senders, as including [Secure Message] in the subject line will still create an encrypted mail.
Recipients who receive an encrypted email will open the message natively in Outlook and other Microsoft products. If a third-party tool is used to read mail, those external recipients may be directed to a website to read the message, similar to how the CSEES process works today.
A direct mailing on May 30 is being sent to those who have sent a secure message since March (2,298 people). Refer to the text below.
The Exchange Admins and Mail Admins will be updating KB documents about the Exchange Online Protection migration in the coming weeks to reflect this change.
