Colleagues:
The following announcement will be sent to current IU Print clients later this week. The point is that as of the next fiscal year, IU Print will be a VPIT-funded service for existing clients with no recharge other than expenses related to the printer/multifunction device itself.
The adoption costs have been a barrier to implementation of the IU Print service in the past and you may be interested in exploring the use of IU Print as part of this change. If you are interested in adopting, please contact the IU Print at printing@iu.edu to express your interest, and we will reconnect with you later in the summer after we have transitioned existing clients to the new model.
Sincerely,
Jacob Farmer
Director, Enterprise Services

To: Current Clients
Subject line: Good news about IU Print
We have some great news to share – as of July 1, 2023 we are eliminating fees previously charged for IU Print’s services.
Clients will continue to pay for the device as well as vendor passthrough charges (now managed by Copy Machines), but the IU Print team costs, including setting up new printers and queues/reporting will now be done at no additional cost to you.
Service billing will continue through the end of the fiscal year at the current, approved rates.
If you have any questions, please email printing@iu.edu. More details will be shared as the transition date comes closer and please be on the lookout for an infoshare to be scheduled in the coming weeks.
