IT Professionals:
Following the Teams Calls migrations for accounts with no number assigned on January 31 and February 6, here are the next stages of migrations.
Simple account migrations will begin on Tuesday, February 14, and end on Thursday, March 2. Refer to the impact list for simple account migrations.
Complex account migrations for IP Phone owners and Response Group Members will be scheduled in a direct communication with the department and UITS’ Communications Planning & Implementation team.
Here is a reminder of actions for IT Pros in preparation for the migrations:
- Ensure that Microsoft Teams is installed on all managed devices, and that clients are informed of how to install Teams on personal and mobile devices.
- Please help reinforce to faculty and staff that we’d like all chat communications to be happening in Teams, not Skype. This will help preserve conversation history and prevent issues as clients or departments are moved. After accounts have been moved, those clients will be unable to log in to Skype.
- Clients can continue to chat and call each other regardless of which platform they’re both on, but extended features (video call, screen shares) will require the participants to be on the same platform.
- Refer to the KB articles on telephone equipment and on the Microsoft Teams Calls migration, including what to expect after your account is moved.
- Refer to the infoshare on the Microsoft Teams Calls roll-out from January 24.
- There are Teams Calls IT Trainings on February 17 and 24 at 10am ET, and on March 3 and 30 at 2pm ET. Register for training.
- Refer to the IP Phones dashboard and associated instructions for using the dashboard.
- If you have questions, you may submit the Teams Calls Feedback form, or alternatively you may contact Tier 2 Support at sct2@iu.edu.
