~~~Text of Direct Communication~~~
Hello,
On August 15, the Google at IU accounts of people who have separated from Indiana University were set to a quota of zero bytes. Additionally, anyone who leaves IU after August 15 will be transferred to separated status and their data quota will be set to zero.
In order to meet new storage allotments imposed on IU by Google, data in these accounts will be deleted on November 1. This is your final reminder about this upcoming deadline.
What does this mean for you?
You may work with data in a file or folder owned by someone who no longer works for IU. For more information on how to find those files, as well as how to gain ownership of those files, see the KB doc Manage Google data owned by those who’ve left IU.
Some information in these shared files may be institutional data. If you create new secure storage locations for that data, remember to use the Institutional Storage Request Form to ensure the correct security considerations and requirements are met. Individual Google storage and OneDrive accounts are NOT acceptable for sharing institutional data classified as restricted or critical, including student information and grades.
If you have any questions about the process for finding and managing data owned by separated users, please drop in to a Google storage coffee hour:
