After the mailing below was sent yesterday, we had further discussion with Red Hat about product offerings and pricing options that we wanted to pass along.
SKU: RHG-RH01183-SLED mentioned in the previous mailing, is a self-supported Server subscription for academic use. It provides 1 RHEL Server VM. This is for the completely self-sufficient academic staffer and this product will cost $85.75 per license.
There is an additional SKU that we wanted to mention:

This is for a license for those who are running applications that benefit from having a supported OS. However, these are general distinctions. The specific use case requirements for the different license are outlined in this pdf. The entire document is important, but it is likely the definitions at the bottom of page 8 and top of page 9 will provide a lot of useful information
We recognize that this is a little more complicated than expected. Red Hat has offered to help determine the right license for an appropriate use case. As communicated in January 2020 and November 2021, due to significant increases in Red Hat licensing costs and declining Red Hat operating system use across IU, UITS is phasing out our enterprise license agreement in February 2023. The new pricing per license model is outlined below:

Information about how to purchase licenses will be provided once finalized. We wanted to send the pricing information to aid with budgeting moving forward. In order to aid with understanding your impact, we are providing a spreadsheet that shows current licenses.
As a reminder, UITS recommends that Red Hat only be used for business needs specifically requiring Red Hat; those units without an absolute dependency on Red Hat are strongly encouraged to migrate to an alternative platform. If migration is not possible you should seek appropriate funding to cover the full licensing cost outlined above.
