IT Professionals:
The EMA Team will be implementing a Modern Auth requirement in the Skype for Business service on June 1, and then in Exchange Online on June 8, in preparation for the removal of legacy auth in Azure in October.
Most Skype for Business clients will see no impact or may be prompted to re-authenticate. If a client cannot negotiate the new token, sign out of Skype, and choose the “Delete my sign-in info” link to force the change.
Most Mail clients will see no change or will be prompted to re-authenticate. If a non-native client is incapable of using a Modern Auth protocol, it may need to be replaced. While EMA and the Support Center have tested several third-party mail clients including the native Apple and Android mobile clients, we cannot account for all use-cases and that we encourage IT Pros and their clients to verify compatibility with modern authentication methods.
If an enterprise product is incapable of communicating via Modern Auth, an exception can be granted on a per-account basis by contacting sct2@iu.edu. This exception is time limited however, as Microsoft is changing the software to block legacy auth no later than October 1.
