Greetings IU Sitehost owners and contacts,
On March 30, 2022, Enterprise Web Technical Services (WebTech) will be updating the default version of PHP to 8.0, and retiring PHP 7.4 in June.
Update schedule:
Wednesday, March 30, 2022, 8-10am: Sitehost test and production default PHP version updated from 7.4 to 8.0
Thursday, June 2, 2022, 8-10am: PHP 7.4 removed from Sitehost test and production
Users are encouraged to begin testing their sites and applications for compatibility issues on PHP 8.0 immediately.
Users will be able to manage the version of PHP used on each Sitehost account via the WebTech website. While the default version will be updated to PHP 8.0 in March, users can currently modify individual accounts to use PHP 7.4, 8.0, and 8.1 to allow for testing.
