IT Professionals,
Alongside the migration to IU Login 2.0 [1], the Identity Management System team also released a completely redesigned IU Guest account service [2]. It supports guest accounts from the existing service, as well as new email accounts and social login accounts from Facebook, Google, and Microsoft. The new External Accounts API may be used to query existing guest accounts as well as to send account creation invitations [3].
With the broad adoption of these new services, the legacy IU Guest service, found at https://ams.iu.edu/guests/GuestHome.aspx, will be retired on Thursday, February 17. The legacy Guest SOAP service, which is no longer in use due to having been migrated to the External Accounts API, will also be retired on this date.
While redirects will remain in place for the next six months, you may ensure your applications direct users to the new Guest service with these updated One.IU links:
Manage IU Guest account: https://one.iu.edu/launch-task/iu/manage-iu-guest-account
Reset IU Guest password: https://one.iu.edu/launch-task/iu/reset-iu-guest-password
Note: Your application’s unique link to create an IU Guest account should reflect the registered serviceName (e.g., https://login.iu.edu/guest?serviceName=yourappname).
If you have any questions, please contact the Identity Management Systems team at imsinfo@iu.edu.
