Hello IT Professionals,
Campus Networks would like to inform you of an upcoming change regarding DNS and DHCP next Wednesday, June 23, at 8:00pm ET.
Currently, all DHCP addresses get assigned a Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN). This feature was enabled many years ago for access to certain services, however, those known services are now using different methods. As Campus Networks is in the process of migrating to a new DNS/DHCP solution, this feature will no longer be supported on the new platform.
What action IT Pros may need to take:
If you have a service that relies on DHCP addresses having an FQDN, please contact Campus networks by emailing noc@iu.edu and we will work with you to examine other alternatives.
