The Spring EdCert schedule is up and live at https://edcert.iu.edu. Courses will be available only as an ONLINE option, participating remotely from your own workstation. Class meets from 9am to 4pm.
EdCert’s Spring semester has courses from fundamental to intermediate levels from Microsoft and CompTIA.
The EdCert program is in the process of adding new courses from Microsoft targeting the Power Platform and Power BI space. More information will be available at a later date as to the specific course dates.

Mar 29-Apr 2 CompTIA A+ Core 1 (Exam 220-1001) CompTIA $250 Register by Mar24
CompTIA A+ is the industry-preferred qualifying credential for technical support and IT operational roles. It is about much more than PC repair. Candidates are better prepared to troubleshoot and problem solve, and technicians will better understand a wide variety of issues ranging from networking and operating systems to mobile devices and security. A+ supports the ability to connect users to the data they need to do their jobs regardless of the devices in use. CompTIA A+ Core 1 covers mobile devices, networking technology, hardware, virtualization and cloud computing, and network troubleshooting. Vendor-neutral and designed to assist in preparing for the CompTIA A+ Core 1 certification examination, 220-1001, one of two exams required for CompTIA A+ certification.
Apr 19-23 CompTIA Server+ (Exam SK0-004) CompTIA $500 Register by Apr 14
The CompTIA Server+ course builds on your existing professional experience to present the next tier of skills and concepts that you will use on the job when administering any type of network server, be it in data center or cloud environments. CompTIA Server+ covers the latest server technologies including virtualization, security and network-attached storage. Skills learned include server architecture, administration, storage, security, networking, troubleshooting, and disaster recovery. The course provides the primary knowledge and skills you will require preparing for any type of network server-related career and assists in preparation for the Server+ SK0-004 certification exam.
May 3-7 CompTIA Network+ (Exam N10-007) CompTIA $500 Register by Apr 28
The CompTIA Network+ covers the essential knowledge and skills needed for configuration, management, and troubleshooting of common wired and wireless network devices. Ensures IT professionals can design and implement functional networks, identify benefits and drawbacks of existing network configurations, configure/manage/maintain essential network devices, use devices such as switches and routers to segment network traffic and create resilient networks, and implement network security, standards, and protocols. Also included are emerging technologies such as unified communications, mobile, cloud, and virtualization technologies. This course assists in the preparation for the CompTIA Network+ certification exam (N10-007).
May 10-12 Advance Administration with PowerShell (MOC 10962) Microsoft $350 Register by May 5
This course provides the fundamental knowledge and skills to automate administrative tasks using Windows PowerShell 5.1. Learn core scripting skills such as creating advanced functions, writing controller scripts, and handling script errors. Topics include how to work with Windows PowerShell Workflow, the REST API, and XML and JSON formatted data files. Students will also learn how to use new administration tools such as Desired State Configuration (DSC) and Just Enough Administration (JEA) to configure and secure servers.
May 17-21 CompTIA Security+ (Exam SY0-501) CompTIA $500 Register by May 12
The CompTIA Security+ course builds on your knowledge of and professional experience with security fundamentals, networks, and organizational security as you acquire the specific skills required to implement basic security services on any type of computer network. Emphasizes both the practical and hands-on ability to identify and address security threats, attacks, and vulnerabilities. Security+ focuses on the latest trends and techniques in risk management, risk mitigation, threat management, and intrusion detection. Content includes security concepts, tools, and procedures to react to security incidents, as well as anticipating security risks and guarding against them. Assists in the preparation for the CompTIA Security+ SY0-501 certification exam.

June 21-25 Windows Server 2019 Administration (MOC WS-011) Microsoft $350 Register by June 16
This five-day instructor-led course is designed primarily for IT professionals who have some experience with Windows Server. It is designed for professionals who will be responsible for managing identity, networking, storage and compute by using Windows Server 2019, and who need to understand the scenarios, requirements, and options that are available and applicable to Windows Server 2019. The course teaches IT professionals the fundamental administration skills required to deploy and support Windows Server 2019 in most organizations.
