Hello IT Professionals,
On Tuesday evening, 11/10, the Campus Network Portal (CNP) application that IT Pros use for systems that reside in the Data Centers at IUB, IUPUI and Specialty Networks (BMS, HSN & Legacy/IOT) will be updated with new functionality. After the update, IT Pros will be able to see statistics regarding the usage of a firewall policy allowing traffic. These statistics will show usage counts for the last 180 days and will be updated daily.
With this added functionality, IT Pros are encouraged to look through their current firewall policies and evaluate those that do not show use for removal. Removal of rules should be requested within the CNP application itself. For detailed information about using the Campus Network Portal, see the KB article “Using the Campus Network Portal (CNP)” [1].
Additionally, the creation of host and hosts group objects will be automated. With this added automation, hosts entered in external host groups will need to be referenced in full CIDR mask, including single addresses (x.x.x.x/32).
Future updates will include an interface change and the automation of some policy requests.
If you have questions about the CNP, please use our form [2] or email noc@iu.edu.
