IT Professionals,
We wanted to bring to your attention the pending expiration of a root certificate which could impact your systems and services. The AddTrust External CA Root Certificate will expire on May 30th and any system which *only* trusts this root certificate will be impacted. Devices or applications that have received security updates since mid-2015 should be unaffected; however, there are some exceptions which will need to be manually addressed. Our colleagues in the Information Security Office at Carnegie Mellon University have prepared a helpful guide which documents this issue [1].
If your system is affected and is not addressed before the certificate expiration, services could be impacted, up to and including certificate warnings presented to clients.
Please reach out to ca-admin@uiso.iu.edu if you have any questions.
