IT Professionals:
The Leveraged Services team would like to inform you that Microsoft intends to use Office 365 to change the default search option in Google Chrome to Bing. This change will likely be implemented as part of the next Office 365 patch, which will be released next Tuesday (2/11/2020). To prevent this change from impacting end-users, Leveraged Services is providing an updated Office 365 package in SCCM that prevents the Bing service from installing. Please note that this only prevents the Bing service from installing on new Office 365 installations.
To prevent the Bing service from installing on current installations of Office 365, IT Pros should configure the Group Policy Object [1]. The Active Directory team updated the ADMX template during their change window this week.
If you have any questions about this process, please contact sct2@iu.edu.
