IT Professionals,
The eLearning Services team (eLS) wants to inform you of four upcoming events.
First, Top Hat [1] will be performing system maintenance that will render the Top Hat Gradebook inaccessible from 10:00am – 1:00pm on Sunday, December 8.
Additionally, there is a Canvas [2] release scheduled for Saturday, December 21 between 8:00am and 12:00pm EST. Canvas will receive feature updates and bug fixes managed by the vendor (Instructure). Highlights in this update include:
- Updated Features
- Global Announcements: Admins may choose to send email notifications pertaining to a Global Announcements when they begin appearing. By default, users will receive the associated notification via email as soon as the Global Announcement begins. Users may change this default from their notification preferences screen.
- Fixed Bugs
- API updates

Finally, On Thursday, December 26 between 1:00am-9:00am, Pearson will be running a maintenance in order to implement some system improvements [4]. Users will be unable to sign into or access courses, create or copy courses, and sync grades associated with the following Pearson products: MyLab, MyLabsPlus, Mastering, and Modified Mastering. Both the web interface, as well as integrated solutions, will be affected [5].
