IT Professionals:
The Storage and Virtualization Team are happy to announce a new feature of Intelligent Infrastructure [1], stretched clusters [2]. Stretched clusters use a failover process that significantly improves disaster preparedness. If one server fails, the virtual machines it hosts will automatically restart on another server either in the same location or at a secondary location, reducing downtime. This new functionally allows most workload in II to automatically failover to the opposing campus, if necessary.
Please refer to the kb document “About stretched clusters in Intelligent Infrastructure” for more details, including how to verify that your VMs are currently protected.
If you have any questions, please contact sav-request@iu.edu.
