Marie Kerbeshian, vice president of technology commercialization at Indiana University Research and Technology Corp., is leading workshops and speaking at international conferences April 14-29 in China. She shares her thoughts about her third stop: Shanghai, where she is speaking at the 4th China International Technology Fair.
I spent the day with Tina Wei, a trademark attorney who attended my session the day before. We went to the 4th annual China International Technology Fair and met with representatives of regional universities who had booths to highlight their efforts.
Then sightseeing. The China Art Museum, a red building with three floors of art in the top structure and the rest in the base. There was a warren of tourist shops and restaurants in the city center. Unlike Fuzhou, there were lots of westerners as well as Chinese. I ate at a Chinese cafeteria where they fried the fish and tofu in front of you, and ended the day at the Shanghai museum seeing the evolution of Chinese porcelain, plus calligraphy and traditional Chinese paintings.
