Justin Luebke has officially joined as a technology commercialization manager at the Indiana University Innovation and Commercialization Office, which protects, markets and licenses intellectual property developed at IU so it can be commercialized by industry.
“Justin is a great addition to the ICO team, and we are excited to have him aid in our mission of translating IU research to impactful solutions,” said Lakshmi Sastry-Dent, director of technology commercialization at IU ICO.
Luebke will manage a portfolio of software, copyright and life science technologies disclosed by IU faculty. He will evaluate disclosures for patentability, determine potential for licensing and marketability, and seek potential partnerships or investments for startup formation.
“I am looking forward to bringing IU research from the benchtop to society through the development of new products, services, partnerships and startups, and I am excited to build relationships within the university, industry and entrepreneurial communities,” Luebke said. “I’ve been working in tech transfer, licensing and commercialization for the better part of the last decade in both academia and industry. After being away for a while, I’m excited be back in Bloomington and be a part of IU.”
He previously worked at ARUP Laboratories as a Strategy and Science Analyst.
