IU Bloomington alumni will speak about their experiences as company founders
The IU Angel Network has launched the Founders Fireside Chat series so the public, including Indiana University students at all campuses and academic centers, can network with and learn from alumni whose businesses have raised venture capital.
IU Bloomington alumnus and business founder Brian Anderson will be the featured speaker in the first event of the free, virtual series. Anderson will speak about going from working on Wall Street to running beastcoast, a professional esports team that represents 30 of the world’s most talented video gaming competitors and influencers.
The virtual event will be at 6 p.m. EST Tuesday, Nov. 17. Registration is required.
Jason Whitney, IU Ventures associate vice president and IU Angel Network executive director, said the Founders Fireside Chat series was launched to address the interests of two specific audiences.

“The series is an extension of the network’s global IU Founders and Funders networking efforts. It was created in response to the many IU students asking for an opportunity to learn more from the founders we have engaged with,” Whitney said.
“The alumni founders I have met during our travels indicated that they wanted a way to give back to the university. The series allows them to share their experiences as business leaders.”
The Founders Fireside Chat series will include bimonthly events. Each individual event and its featured alumni speaker will be shared on the IU Ventures LinkedIn page and the Crimson Catalyst blog.
