IU funds invested more than $750,000 in startups in April and May

IU Ventures, which manages the IU Philanthropic Venture Fund and the Innovate Indiana Fund, invested in four companies in April and May 2020. The funds provide capital to companies founded by Indiana University faculty, students, alumni and staff to help bring their research and innovations to the public through new ventures.

Diagnotes has received a cumulative follow-on investment of $250,000 from the IU Philanthropic Venture Fund and the Innovate Indiana Fund.

Diagnotes’ platform improves clinicians’ productivity and increases the quality of patient care they are able to provide. A news story about the investment is available online.

Amplified Sciences, a life sciences startup that leverages patent-protected technology that amplifies difficult-to-find biomarkers, received a $125,000 investment from the Philanthropic Venture Fund.

Amplified Sciences’ lead assay in development helps clinicians test for pancreatic cancer and better treat patients with pancreatic cysts. A news story about the investment is available online.

Encamp has received a second investment from the IU Philanthropic Venture Fund of $151,000. Encamp’s web application supports clients who need to gather and document environmental compliance information.

Encamp’s platform uses applied automation and real-time integration with government standards. A news story about the investment is available online.

The Bee Corp, an agtech startup that develops solutions for growers and beekeepers who rely on commercial pollination, received a $250,000 investment from the Philanthropic Venture Fund.

The Bee Corp uses infrared cameras that attach to a smartphone to provide a noninvasive look at the health of the hive. A news story about the investment is available online.
