Indiana University had a strong year in technology transfer activity in 2016-17, reporting a 10-year high in licensing agreements and a year-over-year increase in invention disclosures.
Also, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office issued a record 57 patents on IU discoveries in 2016-17, eclipsing the previous record of 53 issued the year before. Another 142 patents were issued by global organizations, for a cumulative total of 199 during the year.
