M. Terry Loghmani, associate professor of physical therapy in the Indiana University School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, will speak about a medical device system developed at IUPUI during an event today, Oct. 27.
The Invention to Startup Forum is scheduled for 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the Indiana Center for Biomedical Innovation, 1800 N. Capitol Ave., in the fifth-floor Noyes Pavilion. Faculty from Indiana University, the University of Notre Dame and Purdue University — which are members of the Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute — are invited to attend.
Loghmani’s system addresses the need for real-time quantification of the three-dimensional forces and motions delivered during therapeutic massage. Faculty involved in this invention have created Health Smart Technologies Inc., a new startup, to further develop and commercialize the technology.
The goal of the Innovation to Startup Forum is to support advancement of translational research and lab discoveries into market-directed health care applications. The program is designed to provide guidance and mentorship to academic scientists.
